WHAT WE DO
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy is a trauma-focused intervention that improves mental wellbeing. This is evidentially the best therapy for helping people with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and depression, and anxiety. As empirical Psychologists we work off the best evidence rule that allows us to help people efficiently and permanently. We keep our training up to date with Continuing Professional Development.
Transactional Analysis
This is a framework of psychology based on the idea that one’s behavior and social relationships reflect an interchange between parental (critical and nurturing), adult (rational), and childlike (intuitive and dependent) aspects of personality established early in life. It also covers social games.
Freudian-Jungian therapy
Psychoanalytic therapy is a form of talk therapy based on Sigmund Freud’s theories of psychoanalysis. The approach explores how the unconscious mind influences thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
Jungian Psychoanalysis, is a type of psychotherapy that brings to awareness unconscious archetypes. The goal is to achieve psychological healing and wellness by aligning conscious and unconscious aspects of the personality.
Depression Counselling & Psychotherapy
Depression can be described as feeling unhappy, sad, miserable, or down. True clinical depression is a mood disorder in which the feelings of sadness, anger, loss, or frustration interfere with everyday life for weeks, months, or longer. Our Psychologists help you explore the causes of depression and incorporate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy techniques that focus on breaking the cycles of depression for good.
Bereavement Counselling and Psychotherapy

MUSLIM PSYCHOLOGIST IMAM GHAZALI (RA)
“Allah (SWT) is our innermost”
Imam Ghazali, also known as Abu Hamid al-Ghazali(RA), was a prominent Muslim theologian, philosopher, and jurist who lived from 1058 to 1111 CE. His work had a significant impact on Islamic thought and continues to be highly regarded by scholars and practitioners. Ghazali’s writings cover a wide range of topics, including theology, philosophy, mysticism, ethics, and jurisprudence. Here is a detailed overview of Imam Ghazali’s work:
Revival of the Religious Sciences (Ihya Ulum al-Din): Ghazali’s most famous work is the “Ihya Ulum al-Din” or “Revival of the Religious Sciences.” This comprehensive work consists of four books covering various aspects of Islamic spirituality, ethics, and social conduct. It addresses topics such as worship, knowledge, manners, social responsibilities, and purification of the heart. The “Ihya” is considered a masterpiece of Islamic literature and remains widely studied and influential.
The Incoherence of the Philosophers (Tahafut al-Falasifa): In this work, Ghazali critically examines the teachings of Greek philosophy, particularly the metaphysics and philosophy of Aristotle and the Neoplatonists. He argues against the compatibility of Aristotelian philosophy with Islamic theology and highlights what he perceives as logical and conceptual flaws in their arguments. The “Tahafut al-Falasifa” sparked debates and discussions among scholars and had a significant impact on subsequent Islamic philosophical thought.
The Alchemy of Happiness (Kimiyā-yi Sa’ādat): This book explores the nature of happiness and the path to attaining it. Ghazali discusses the various obstacles that hinder spiritual growth and provides guidance on how to overcome them. Drawing upon Islamic theology, mysticism, and ethical teachings, he emphasizes the importance of self-reflection, self-discipline, and submission to the Divine Will as essential elements for spiritual development.
Mishkat al-Anwar (The Niche for Lights): This work focuses on mystical and spiritual dimensions of Islam. Ghazali delves into the concept of mystical illumination and the stages of spiritual progression. He explores the idea of the inner light and the transformative journey towards spiritual enlightenment, drawing from Sufi teachings and experiences.
Ihya Ulum al-Din al-Ghazali’s Autobiography: This autobiographical work offers insights into Ghazali’s personal spiritual journey and intellectual struggles. He recounts his quest for knowledge, his doubts and uncertainties, and his eventual spiritual awakening and transformation. Ghazali’s personal experiences and reflections in this work provide valuable insights into the challenges faced by individuals seeking a deeper understanding of faith and spirituality.
Imam Ghazali’s work had a profound impact on Islamic intellectual thought, spirituality, and jurisprudence. His writings combined Islamic theology, philosophy, and mysticism, aiming to revive and strengthen religious practice and spirituality among Muslims. Ghazali’s works continue to be studied, translated, and commented upon by scholars, and his ideas and insights remain relevant to contemporary discussions on Islamic thought and spirituality. Western psychologists like Freud and Jung stole his work and ideas and were completely unoriginal.
MUSLIM VIEW OF SCHIZOPHRENIA
Islamic Approach to Schizophrenia
The Role of Spirituality and Religion in Mental Health means you need a Pir to do Bait to guide you in the Spirit World or you get lost as there are many monsters in the unconscious. Like R.D. Laing pointed out about schizophrenia in his book “The Politics of Experience and The Bird of Paradise” (1967) the “origin of our experience is the east” and “nectar is not for mortal lips” We build on this insight be go deeper and Muslims claim schizophrenia as an Islamic illness because people with schizophrenia are the closest to Paradise on earth. There is a hadith of the Noble Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) “die before you die”. A further hadith “people are asleep when they die they wake up” the so called person with schizophrenic is just waking up and he or she needs a Pir to navigate the Unseen Realm as is it dangerous without a Pir Spiritual Guide or you will get lost in the Unseen.
Everyone is going to be die anyway and be Judged by their maker Allah (SWT) so why delay the inevitable when heaven and hell are just places in the mind and you can experience them now whilst on earth. That said don’t come of your medication as it could save your life or the life of others, but R.D. Laing said there’s nothing wrong with hallucinating as long as it doesn’t harm anyone, or cause you distress.
In the Holy Quran is says “the truth perishes the brain” most people can’t handle the realms of the Unseen without a Pir Spiritual Guide hence they end up delusional and don’t know how to interpret hallucinations like the auditory negative ones which are the again noted in the Holy Quran “the self-blaming soul that dies “or visual hallucinations that come from the realm of Souls or Jinns or the unconscious.
There is another hadith or saying of the Noble Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) “sleep is the brother of death”. Muslims believe that the soul is taken every night when we sleep and returned into us in the morning, and more likely than not schizophrenia will be found to be a dream like state in future, and those who lived through current psychiatric abuse will be regards as torch bearers and heroes of the future at a time when humanity was from any reasonable standpoint abominable. History will view schizophrenia as the evolution of the human mind taking normal life to the inner spiritual world and the resurrection.
“Nearer the day of Judgement those who believe will be called mad” is another hadith of the Noble Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The so called “mad” have a very honoured place in Sufism, actually the word “insane” comes from the Arabic to be “human”.
As Rumi (RA) said “imagination bars you like a bolt on a door burn that bolt”| (this world is only imagined) burn it through the remembrance of Allah (SWT) and the real world awaits. But you need a Pir Spiritual Guide as there are thieves on the way to Mecca and without a Pir as a Guide you will fail and miss the target the reality of love. Schizophrenia is like anaesthetic, people are dead but alive, then be resurrected to eternity, where are honey stations, amongst others.
The Three Stages Of Soul For The Wondrous Schizophrenic Journey
There are three principal stages of Nafs specifically mentioned in the Qur’an. They are stages in the process of development, refinement and mastery of the Nafs (or ego).
1.The inciting nafs (an-nafs al-ʾammārah)
In its primitive stage the Nafs incites us to commit evil: this is the Nafs as the lower self, the base instincts. In the eponymous Sura of the Qur’an, Yusuf says “Yet I claim not that my Nafs was innocent: Verily the Nafs incites to evil.”[Quran 12:53]. We all start at the soul depraved. Islam emphasises the importance of fighting the inciting Nafs. One tradition holds that Ya (Living) Muhammad (PBUH) Prophet of all the Prophets said after returning from a war, “We now return from the small struggle (Jihad Asghar) to the big struggle (Jihad Akbar)”. His companions asked, “O prophet of God, what is the big struggle?” He replied, “The struggle against Nafs.”The Qur’an enjoins the faithful “to hinder the Nafs from lust”,[Quran 79:40] and another traditional narration warns that “the worst enemy you have is [the Nafs] between your sides.”
Animal imagery is often used to describe the Nafs. A popular image is a donkey or unruly horse that must be trained and broken so that eventually it will bear its rider to the goal. Rumi compares the Nafs to a camel that the hero Majnun, representing the intellect (‘Aql), strains to turn in the direction of the dwelling-place of his beloved.
2.The self-accusing Nafs (an-nafs al-luwwāmah) is where most schizophrenic blaming voices come from and there is a difference between hearing voices and listening to them. Say to them what Rumi stated “I am what you say and worse”. In Sura al-Qiyama the Qur’an mentions “the self-accusing Nafs”.[Quran 75:2]. This is the stage where “the conscience is awakened and the self accuses one for listening to one’s lower ego. One repents and asks Allah (SWT) for forgiveness.” Here the Nafs is inspired by heart, sees the results of your actions, agrees with your brain, sees your weaknesses, and aspires to perfection.
3.The Nafs at peace (an-nafs al-muṭmaʾinnah)
In Sura al-Fajr the Qur’an mentions “the Nafs at peace”.[Quran 89:27] This is the ideal stage of ego for Muslims. On this level one is firm in one’s faith and leaves bad manners behind. The soul becomes tranquil, at peace. At this stage, followers of Sufism have relieved themselves of all materialism and worldly problems and are satisfied with the will of Allah (SWT).
Therefore in Rumi’s (RA) words “Come, come, whoever you are. Wanderer, worshiper, lover of leaving. It doesn’t matter. Ours is not a caravan of despair. Come, even if you have broken your vows a thousand times. Come, yet again, come, come.”
“There is a day not on any calendar, there is a day out of living and dying, I will meet you there” Rumi (RA)
Also good practical life advice for anyone with mental health problems is what the Great Milton Psychotherapist used to say when asked for advice:
Get married
Have children (we say the more schizophrenics in the world the better)
Get some income (become as rich as you can)
MUSLIM GENOCIDE
The unpalatable truth is there is a war being waged against Muslims so our first duty is to quell the psychological propaganda and set the record straight.
The piecemeal Muslim genocide (piecemeal, so perhaps it would go unnoticed started in Bosnia, then Iraq, then Afghanistan, then Rwanda, then Syria, then Lebanon, then Yemen, Myanmar, now Palestine al-Aqsa, Mosque, and will go on to Iran and finally end with the destruction of Pakistan (please google project for a new American Century) for the written evidence. We want 1 million pounds repatriation to go to the family of every single muslim killed so around 12.5 trillion is owed to Muslim famlies around the world since the false flag 911 attack which was an excuse to go on a “lets kill ourselves a Muslim” worldwide murdering spree which Greenday sung about in “America idot”.American Muslims cast your vote wisely for Trump hates Muslims and he’s made that very clear.
The truth is that Muslim life is currently too cheap for Non-Muslim therapists to care about so we have a duty to state it here, so wake up to the true, gritty and grave situation all Muslims are facing.
In Tupac’s words “these sorry bastards want to kill you in your sleep”, and remember the wise Quran says” not less, not more, but equal force” Verse 22:39 and only in self-defence.
Learn martial arts as Malcom X stated to all Muslims. Be prepared becuase soon a time will come (look at the UK riots) when they will enter your houses and you are forced to defend yourself against an army rifle or the streets a chav with a knife looking out for a Hajabi. Wake up! Look back at history Adolf Hitler wrote in Mein Kampf “We’ll promise them equal rights, then just kill them” “look at them asleep in their beds waiting to die” (thats what they think of you, to them you are scum waiting to die) sounds familiar to the Gaza situation! We do not condone any form of terrorism but Muslims are a warrior people look at our history peace loving but we will fight till the death for our right of self defence.
Our Noble Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) told us everything beforehand, even to the extent of pointing out the stairs in Damascus, where Jesus Christ (AS) will return, where he will walk, and how he will be a Muslim (hadith Sahih Muslim), and condemned the killing of all innocents, be they of any religion.
Our Noble Prophet (PBUH) when asked why he defended a Jewish person? said “I saw a soul” therefore see souls not “human animals” Benjamin Netanyahu. Furthermore, the Noble Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) said, “the people will soon summon one another to attack Muslims’, as people invite others, to share their dish when eating.” As the Holy Quran says, “the earth is comfort for while”, “await a mighty day of recompense,” and Non-Muslims’ should note that every single other Prophet on that day will say one thing to their followers, “go to Mohammed (PBUH)” so the person you hate the most you need the most.
Therefore, Non-Muslin’s are heavily deluded in this temporary dream life, because the worldly illusion soon passes in a fleeting instant, towards the true reality that the Noble Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) controls and the whole of humanity rests on his tears and prayers. The Noble Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) will not be crying in prayer for anyone but his Muslim followers not to go to hell for eternity but to go to Paradise forever and not any other single soul.
Read the Quran and the rules of war and how the Noble Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) never himself killed anyone in battle, how even when he won wars, he forgave (e.g., the Mecca conquest). then and only then, will you be in a better position to understand that Islam says that if you kill one innocent person, you will be punished by Allah (SWT) as if you killed the whole of humanity and your abode is hellfire forever.
In conclusion Islam means “peace” but we should be ready to defend at all times otherwise they will try and wipe us out in the horrific genocide that is going on against us. Zionism should fear Allah (SWT) and stick to international and human rights standards for our Palestinian brothers and sisters.
“They wish to extinguish Allah’s light with their mouths, but Allah will ˹certainly˺ perfect His light , even to the dismay of the disbelievers” (Surah Al-Saf 8)
READ THE FOLLOWING ABOUT AL-AQSA MOSQUE FROM MUSLIM HANDS
Alhamdulillah, we have been honoured to support Masjid Al-Aqsa for over a decade, through the dedication of generous donors. From renovating wudu areas, to repairing damaged sections, to illuminating its prayer halls – there are so many projects you have participated in!
In this article, we’d like to share eight little-known facts about the blessed site, as well as ways you can preserve Masjid Al-Aqsa in 2022 .
It isn’t just one mosque
There are in fact multiple mosques on the site that we know as Masjid Al-Aqsa. We tend to think of Masjid Al-Aqsa as the building at the southernmost corner of the mosque. In actual fact, that is the Qibali Mosque – so called because it is the closest to the Qiblah. The whole complex is known as the Blessed Masjid Al-Aqsa. It is also referred to as Al-Haram ash-Sharif (the Noble Sanctuary).
It is mentioned in the Qur’an
In fact, the Ka’bah and Masjid Al-Aqsa are the only two masjids mentioned in the Qur’an – and they are even referenced side by side when Allah (swt) speaks of the Night Journey and Ascension :
‘Exalted is He who took His Servant by night from al-Masjid al-Haram to al-Masjid al-Aqsa, whose surroundings We have blessed, to show him of Our signs. Indeed, He is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing’. [The Noble Qur’an, 17:1]
The original Dome of the Rock looked very different
The Dome of the Rock was built by the Ummayad ruler Abdul Malik ibn Marwan. It was originally wooden with either a brass, lead or ceramic cover. The iconic dome we all know was built almost a thousand years later during the reign of the Ottoman ruler, Sulaiman the Magnificent. The distinctive gold layer was added to the dome along with the Ottoman tiles to the facade of the building.
Alhamdulillah, we are currently fundraising to illuminate this Islamic landmark .
The complex is also a burial ground
Though there is no accurate record of who and how many have been buried here, the burial ground in Al-Haram as-Sharif is the resting place for many prophets (as) and Sahabah of the Holy Prophet (saw).
For example, Ubadah ibn Samir (RA), who was the first Islamic judge in Masjid Al-Aqsa, is buried in the Bab ar-Rahmah Cemetery . This is the third most prominent graveyard in the Islamic world, after two famous graveyards in Makkah and Madinah – and alhamdulillah, it has been recently renovated by donations through Muslim Hands.
It once held a legendary minbar
Imad ad-Din Zengi, a member of the Turkish Zengid dynasty, had a special minbar built to be installed in Masjid Al-Aqsa. This minbar was not only beautiful, but it was made without using a single nail or bit of glue. Sadly, Imad ad-Din did not live to see the victory, but his protégé Salahuddin fulfilled the wish of his teacher, and after liberating Jerusalem for the second time in the history of Islam, installed the minbar.
The site was once used as a dumping ground
When the Romans exiled Jewish people from the city, the mainly Roman inhabitants used the area of Masjid Al-Aqsa as a garbage dump. When Umar (RA) opened city to Islam, he cleared the rubbish with his bare hands. He also ended the centuries-old exile of Jewish people, giving refugee families the right to reside in Jerusalem once again.
Al Ghazali lived and wrote his greatest work there
One of the most famous scholars in Islamic history, Imam Abu Hamid Al-Ghazali (RA), spent a period of his life in Masjid Al-Aqsa where he wrote what is widely regarded as his greatest work, the Ihyaa Ulum Al-Din (The Revival of Religious Sciences). A building in the masjid marks the site of his old room.
It has been burnt down
In 1969 the entire Qibali Masjid was burnt down. The mosque has since been rebuilt, but this incident from the not-so-distant past shows just how important it is to look after the third holiest site in Islam. In fact, in 2019, we began fundraising to replace the entire lighting system in the Qibali Masjid, because the old system had not been replaced in 30 years and posed a risk of fire. We have just finished this work, alhamdulillah!
Serve Palestine in 2022
Here are three ways you can support Masjid Al-Aqsa and her caretakers:
Illuminate the Dome of the Rock Masjid to gain the reward of the 1,000 prayers! The Prophet (saw) was asked, ‘If one of us cannot visit it (Al-Aqsa), what should we do?’ He (saw) said, ’Then he should make a gift of some oil to be lit therein [in its lamps]. For indeed the one who gifts this to it will be like the one who has prayed therein [worth 1,000 prayers]’. [Ahmad]
Sponsor a Palestinian family with your Zakat (or Sadaqah).
Plant an olive tree in Palestine. It’s a triple charity – providing food, livelihoods and protecting the environment – all in just £15. You can also give on behalf of a loved one and receive a gift card and certificate .
May Allah (SWT) put barakah in everything you give to His Blessed Masjid, Ameen.
